This varies; however, we strive to ship a ring within a week of receiving the order. If your delivery date is critical, contact us first to be certain that we can deliver as needed.

  • I see wooden rings selling for $25 on Ebay. Why do yours cost so much more?

Our wooden rings take considerably longer to build, and they are constructed with greater care to ensure their durability. For more details, see the next question regarding Bentwood construction.

  • Do you have a return policy?

Absolutely. It’s really simple… we want you to be completely happy with your handcrafted wooden ring. If you are not 100% satisfied with your ring for any reason whatsoever, you can return it within 30 days from the purchase date.

  • What about refinishing?

If your ring needs refinishing within 1 year from the date of purchase, we will refinish it for nothing more than the price of postage.
If your ring needs refinishing after 1 year, there will be a small refinishing fee.

  • Do you have a warranty on your wooden rings?

Yes. We believe you will be completely satisfied. However, if your wooden ring breaks within 1 year from the date of purchase, we will make a new one for you at no charge.

  • What can I do to extend the good condition of my wood ring?

    Avoid:

    • exposure to abrasive surfaces and substances, including sand and powder detergent
    • exposure to harsh chemicals
    • over-frequent washing and drying
    • extended submersion in water (try to remember to take off your ring during dishwashing, showering, and swimming)
    • rough treatment, (lifting weights, operating heavy machinery, etc.)
  • How long will a wooden ring last?

We really do not know. That said, with proper care, there is no reason that a bentwood ring will not last for decades. The polymer finish used creates a waterproof barrier to minimize failure in the material. The polymer gives the ring strength. Occasional re-buffing may be required if the ring is subjected to heavy wear or abrasives.

The common short answer to this question is that it depends largely on how they are treated. Due to the specialized hands-on bending technique that capitalizes on the strength of the wood, the rings themselves are incredibly durable. However, any wood finish – particularly on a wooden object that will see constant contact/rubbing/friction with skin – can eventually wear away.

  • Will the rings break?

Yup. Everything breaks. However, we have not yet had a ring fail in any way due to normal wear.

  • How durable are your wooden rings?

Steam bending and the final assembly of the ring give it strength. The addition of a modern polymer increases the strength as well as gives the wood a protective finish. We wear our rings every day and subject them to the tools and abuse that our own hands endure as we build rings for you.

  • How do you make your wooden rings?

The simple answer… each ring is handmade to respond to the natural grain of the wood.
The long answer… we use a process of steam bending the wood. The natural oils of the wood are replaced with a polymer to give the ring durability, strength and lasting beauty.

  • Where does your material come from?

Material from native species has come from storm-blown trees, fallen limbs, and scraps or cut-offs. Exotic species are purchased from eco-conscious suppliers, with much of their own material being reclaimed from warehouses. Very, very little material is required for wooden rings.

  • What kind of finish is used on the rings?

Our standard finish is a cyanoacrylate adhesive which is buffed to a high sheen, resulting in a hard-wearing and glassy surface that adds contrast (makes the grain “pop”) and leaves a shimmering effect in many wood species. Upon request, we can also finish the ring using a natural penetrating oil. With the oil finish, the ring will have a very low sheen and the “wood feel” is allowed to come through, but more maintenance is required.

  • Do the rings have seams? / Where are the seams?

The rings do have seams, but they are usually not obvious (this varies depending on wood type).

We take great care in the details of our rings and in most cases, the seams are blended into the grain of the wood.

  • What does “bentwood” mean?

This is the technique used to make our rings. We do not cut the rings from solid pieces of wood or wood laminates. We use a process of steaming and bending strips of wood to create a custom creation just for you. Bentwood construction is the most durable method for building wooden rings.
